Hermitage Academy

Contractor: HBG Construction/BAM
Year: 2007

Hermitage Academy in Helensburgh is the largest school in Argyll and Bute. The new school, which has a role of 1,400 pupils, opened in February 2008, as part of the Argyll and Bute Councils PFI Schools Project.

Price Roofing were contracted by HBG Construction (now BAM) to undertake roofing works, which commenced in September 2006 and were completed in December 2007. This project involved installation of 6500m² of double skin and acoustic Rigidal Ziplok Aluminium Standing Seam Roofs, with a weathered zinc finish. In addition, Kingspan KS1000 Longspan panels were used to clad the Games Hall walls.

The exposed nature of the site presented some key challenges during the winter months, however the project was delivered on time and on budget.

Client quote provided by Will McElhaney of HBG Construction:

“The quality of the service was excellent and Price always had a proactive approach. Any problems were dealt with promptly. The detailed design of the interfaces by Price was key to the success of the project.”
